Itinerary
If experiencing the Northern Lights or the unspoiled beauty of Arctic hinterlands is on your bucket list, explore our McKinley Holiday Package. From snow-covered peaks to wild river canyons and gold-mining adventures, this itinerary delivers an unforgettable Alaskan experience. We can customise the journey to suit your travel style and preferences.
Upon arrival at Anchorage Airport, you'll be welcomed and transferred to your hotel. Anchorage, Alaska’s largest city, is a hub of urban comforts nestled in the vast wilderness. After check-in, the rest of the day is yours to relax or explore the surroundings at leisure. Enjoy your first overnight stay in Anchorage.
After breakfast, check out and proceed to the Anchorage Railway Station to board the Alaska Rail Road bound for Talkeetna. This scenic train ride offers dramatic views of alpine landscapes, winding rivers, and—on clear days—the towering Mt. Denali (formerly Mount McKinley). Wildlife sightings are common, so keep your camera ready.
Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel in Talkeetna. In the afternoon, set out on the exciting Talkeetna Wilderness Jet Boat Safari. Travel deep into the river systems as you spot bald eagles, beavers, moose, and perhaps even bears in their natural habitat. Return for an overnight stay in Talkeetna.
This morning, check out and head to Talkeetna Railway Station to continue your journey aboard the Alaska Rail Road toward Denali. As you travel through the heart of Alaska, enjoy stunning views of glacial valleys and cross Broad Pass—the highest point of the Alaska Railroad.
Upon arrival in Denali, transfer to your hotel. In the evening, you may choose to add an optional glacier flightseeing tour or a glacier landing for an unforgettable aerial perspective of the Alaska Range. Spend the night at your hotel in Denali.
Start your day with breakfast, followed by a guided Tundra Wilderness Tour into Denali National Park. This immersive 53-mile narrated journey offers extraordinary opportunities to witness Alaska’s famed wildlife, such as moose, Dall sheep, caribou, wolves, and grizzly bears.
The tour also provides remarkable views of Mt. Denali, weather permitting, and your naturalist guide will share insights into the region’s ecology, geology, and native history. After your adventure, return to the hotel for a well-deserved rest.
After breakfast, check out and head to Denali Railway Station for your final scenic train ride aboard the Alaska Rail Road to Fairbanks. Journey past the Nenana River Canyon, popular for its rafting thrills, and cross the impressive single-span bridge over the Tanana River.
On arrival in Fairbanks—often called the “Golden Heart City”—transfer to your hotel. The evening is free for you to enjoy local dining or perhaps witness the aurora borealis if conditions are favorable. Overnight in Fairbanks.
This morning, dive into Alaska’s gold rush heritage with the Gold Dredge Tour. Begin with a ride on the Tanana Valley Railroad, where live narration guides you through gold-mining history and past the Trans-Alaska Pipeline. At the dredge site, learn how massive gold machines once operated and try your luck at gold panning with your own bag of pay dirt—keep what you find!
Later in the afternoon, check out from your hotel and transfer to Fairbanks Airport for your onward flight. Your McKinley Holiday Package ends here, but the memories of Alaska’s untamed beauty will stay with you forever.
